Yes, of course!
We work with clients all across the United States and our design process works almost entirely the same way as it does with our local clients. Here is a quick rundown of what you can expect if you are not local to Seattle:
Stage 1 - Fine Tuning the Design:
When you have received an estimate and you are ready to move forward with your project, we will typically set up a video call with you to discuss the initial design and talk more about the whole process of working with Kerf. We will fine tune the design with you over email and/or video calls to answer any questions you may have as well as making edits to best suit your needs and desires.
Stage 2 - Technical Drawings:
We will then produce a set of technical drawings which will have the dimensions and details for the cabinets as well as the room itself so we can confirm the details of the cabinets in addition to making sure they will fit perfectly in the space. We do rely on someone on site (usually a contractor or installer) to confirm the dimensions of the room. We are happy to connect directly with your contractor or installer during this process of site measurements as well as during the installation itself.
Stage 3 - Production and Shipping:
Once the dimensions are confirmed and the design is finalized, the cabinets enter the production stage of the process. This is when the cabinets come to life and are built by our team of builders in Seattle. When the cabinets are all built and finished up, our team will pack the cabinets into large wooden crates so that they can be shipped to you through our freight partner, Maersk. If you have more questions about the shipping/delivery process, please see this Shipping FAQ article: "I have questions about shipping custom cabinets!".
Stage 4 - Installation:
It will be your responsibility to find an installer for your project which could be your contractor or a skilled carpenter. We have heard from installers all across the country who say Kerf cabinets are actually easier to install than ones they work with more commonly. Please see our Installation FAQ article: "Who can install Kerf cabinets?" for more information.
